THE STORY
OF A BREWER
Our founder, Oli Lemke, welded together his very first brewing kit in a friend’s garage in 1998. Prior to that, he had gained experience all over the world, from large breweries in Venezuela to setting up an entire breweriy in Japan. Armed with this wealth of experience, he came up with the idea of founding his own independent brewery in Berlin.

Hinter allen Lemke-Bieren stehen Menschen, die ihr Handwerk lieben. Unsere Brauerinnen und Brauer entwickeln neue Rezepturen, verfeinern bestehende Biere und bilden die nächste Generation aus. Sie verkosten gerne Biere anderer Brauereien und tauschen sich mit ihnen aus. So ist schon das eine oder andere Collab-Bier entstanden. Unser Vertriebs- und Logistikteam bringt das Bier auf den Weg zu Dir nach Hause, in den Berliner Einzelhandel und Gastronomie-Partner berlinweit. Was uns alle verbindet: Neugier, Anspruch und die Leidenschaft für verdammt gutes Bier.
Brewing in the Berlin S-Bahn arches
Our brewery is situated in the middle of Berlin, between Hackescher Markt and the TV Tower. Our beers are brewed in eleven historic S-Bahn arches, just a few steps away from our guests. It is a place where our brewing craft meets Berlin’s beer and culinary culture.

Our "founding house" at Hackescher Markt and well known around the area. The history of the Lemke brewery began in these atmospheric railroad viaducts in 1999. We still brew our beer just a few meters from here today. You can expect a relaxed atmosphere, a quiet green beer garden in the courtyard, Berlin cuisine and of course: our beer!

Lemke Brewery is an independent craft brewery in Berlin. Since 1999, we have been brewing really good beer in the heart of the capital for everyone who appreciates it. Experience, skill and passion go into every bottle we produce. We practise the traditional art of brewing and cherish our Berlin roots, whilst keeping an open mind to the wider world.
