STORY
Our founder Oli Lemke had already dropped out of business studies and completed a degree in brewing when he decided to set up his own brewery. More importantly, he has gained experience around the globe, working in large Venezuelan companies and building complete breweries in Japan. With this wealth of experience under his belt, he welded together his first own brewing system in a friend’s garage in 1998.
NO SUCCESS WITHOUT A TEAM
The Lemke brewery team is made up of people who really love beer. They brew our beers, provide training and tinker with new recipes.
Their aim is to create the world’s best beers in the respective beer styles. They often all eat together when Basti has collected wild garlic in the forest. They then have pasta with wild garlic pesto. They enjoy tasting beers from other breweries and value quality above all else.

Our "founding house" at Hackescher Markt and well known around the area. The history of the Lemke brewery began in these atmospheric railroad viaducts in 1999. We still brew our beer just a few meters from here today. You can expect a relaxed atmosphere, a quiet green beer garden in the courtyard, Berlin cuisine and of course: our beer!
